Our Lead Health Educator/ Lifestyle Coach
I am Grace Osiezagha. In 1993 I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education degree and in 2012, I graduated from Strayer University with a Master of Education degree. I excitedly pursued and fulfill my dream of being a School Teacher.
Over the years I observed my students living with several chronic illnesses, taking medications and not being able to attend school on a regular basis. Secondly, close members of my family were either suffering or managing one chronic disease or the other with lots of medications.
As an educationist, I thought of helping by educating them on how to manage their chronic conditions with or without medications. I returned to school to learn and get certified in several Health and Wellness programs.
As a Health Coach, I teach lifestyle modification, and that can help to reduce the amount of medication that you take to manage your chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, heart failure, stroke, high cholesterol, and other chronic diseases. My dad was on 8 to 9 medications, to manage his chronic illness, (diabetes and high blood pressure), and I was able to help him through this program and reduce his medications to 4. My dad gets better and feels better each day. I saw that this program really helped him, and I decided to share the knowledge with other people who have similar or other chronic illnesses or conditions.
My husband, a cancer survival has weight issue, he weighs 325Ibs, and dress size 3XL. Through the program, lifestyle modification, healthy eating, exercising, and stress reduction, my husband was able to lose weight of 325Ibs to 225Ibs, and change his dress size of 3XL to L. He has completely turn around the clock and he is living and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and most importantly, he is off most medications. He is looking healthier and younger.
